This course is for students with basic to intermediate English language skills. It can help students learn and gain advanced skills. Students can become more proficient at written and oral communication.

This course can open doors to other English courses / professional courses and other higher qualifications.

Entry Requirement

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • English level of at least IELTS 4.5 or equivalent

Course Structure

Participants need to complete Nine (9) Units of Competency:

  • Seven (7) Core Units of Competency
  • Two (2) Elective Units of Competency

The College's combination of Units of Competency is designed to provide learners with a well-rounded unit combination aligned to current industry requirements and the qualification level. There are no pre-requisite units for this qualification.

Pathways for Students

There are no formal articulation arrangements for pathways into VET or Higher Education courses on completion of the course.

A range of potential pathways are possible when EAL certificate courses utilise training package units of competency as electives. Successful completion of these units within Certificate in EAL will be eligible for credit into training package qualifications.
