This course is designed to prepare students with the language and communication skills needed for various professional contexts.

It is ideally suitable for overseas qualified health professionals such as Doctors, Nurses, Dentists, Pharmacists, Physiotherapist and etc., who are looking for career opportunities in Australia, to improve their English language skills. This course also helps to prepare for Occupational English Test (OET).

Entry Requirement

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • English level of at least IELTS 5.5 or equivalent

Course Structure

Participants need to complete Eight(8) Units of Competency:

  • Two (2) Core Units of Competency
  • Two (2) Professional Specialisation Units of Competency
  • Four (4) Elective Units of Competency

The College's combination of Units of Competency is designed to provide learners with a well-rounded unit combination aligned to current industry requirements and the qualification level.

There are no pre-requisite units for this qualification.

Pathways for Students

There are no formal articulation arrangements for pathways into VET or Higher Education courses on completion of the course.

A range of potential pathways are possible when EAL certificate courses utilise training package units of competency as electives. Successful completion of these units within Certificate in EAL will be eligible for credit into training package qualifications.

This course helps you to prepare for Occupational English Test (OET) exam.
