Introduction on Occupation English Test 2.0, scoring criteria of the four modules, training plan for the current intensive training batch. Writing Practice: Basics of OET writing, layout of the letter of referral, transfer or advice.

Speaking Practice: How to enhance communicative ability in a workplace environment, effective use of stress, rhythm, intonation in the speech.

Break From 2:30PM to 3:00PM

Reading Practice: Introduction to part A, B and C, the method to scan read and search read, and how to identify key words in the texts and clues in the question prompts.

Writing Practice:Effective use of linguistic features, use of appropriate vocabulary and a formal tone.

Listening Practice: Introduction to part A, B and C, effective note-taking techniques and effective use of the reading time.

Reading Practice:Part B: how to deep read effectively, understand the underlying argument and explicit meaning of the shorter texts.

Speaking Practice:Effective note taking techniques, and efficient use of notes for role play.

Writing Practice: Clever use of the 5-minute reading time, the importance of punctuation, and a good understanding of the stimulus.

Writing Practice: Grammar—past, present, future tense, passive and active sentences.

Reading Practice: Part C: to identify the underlying argument, understand the gist and explicit meaning of the longer texts.

Speaking Practice:How to address a patient’s concern by understanding and incorporating patient’s perspective. Role plays.

Reading Practice: Recognising the main theme and the supporting ideas and using context to determine the meaning of unclear words or phrases.

Writing Practice: Referral Letter. Identifying and eliminating common grammatical errors in writing, such as faulty parallelism, subject-verb mismatch, dangling or misplaced modifier etc.

Listening Practice: Part A, B and C: Practice active listening and eliminating incorrect answer choices.

Speaking Practice: Dealing with patients: confused, worried, anxious, aggressive.

OET Mock Test

An OET mock test will be held on week 2, day 3. This will be a time-limited exam which simulates the actual OET.
